Seven major new films opened in a varying number of theaters on Christmas Day, and by Sunday very different Hollywood camps were celebrating. “Unbroken” was an unexpected hit, while “Into the Woods” found a broad audience. But no newcomer could topple “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.”
